Homemade Headboard

Last week we were inspired by our friend Evan. She had the great idea to create a headboard. Over the weekend we got all the materials and built one!...Well actually, Todd did the building and I assisted. I also had fun choosing the fabric and buttons.  Like all our projects - this one took much longer than we projected, but it's done now and we have the pleasure of resting against it at this very moment :-)

  2. From a fabric store, get a long upholstery needle and thick upholstery thread. Thread needle as normal, inset needle into fabric from back leaving a long tail trailing. On opposite side (front) slip button onto needle and re-insert needle into fabric. Do this twice, when done be sure button is taunt to the desired firmness. With the remaining thread take the original trail of thread and knot both ends several times.
